sarah kneale | | Date Added: November 02, 2009 10:39:39 PM | | On Sunday afternoon at The Newquay Sports Centre,the Newquay Queen Bees U15 Rugby team together with Taunton girls made up a challenging team for the Leopards girls team. The match was exciting and fast playing. with the Leopards making tries from the speedy Jenny Mcguire (No 10), being chased down by the Queen Bees. Three further tries were scored by Jenna MacPhee (prop), Athalie Redgrove (wing) and Tallulah Murphy (wing). Converstions were kicked by Emily Kneale. Queen Bees stood up the challenge and ran in tries from Rosie Hogg, Olivia Orchard and Louise Matthews (Taunton) scored a hattrick. The converstions were kicked by Olivia.
In the second half the girls continued to play good exciting rugby with the Queen Bees producing some excellent ball handling and tackling. the Leopards then scored a further 3 tries by Ammie Vian (o/s centre), Shannon Hocking (hooker), and the last try of the match by Emily Kneale. The final score being 43:29 to the Leopards. The spectators were treated to a wonderful afternoon of fair play rugby, with spectators from each side supporting all the girls. Excellent, and well done to all the girls.
On Sunday 8th November the Cornwall County U15 and U18 girls teams are playing their first County Match of the season against Devon, kick off is at 1400 at Newquay Sports Centre, anyone is welcome to come and support the girls at Newquay.
