It has recently come to my attention of a plan to build a decked pontoon structure over part of the harbour at mevagissey.the st austell brewery have applied for planning to build it outside of the sharks fin gastro pub. This will be an eyesore on the harbour and needs the backing of mevagissey people to stop it. The parish council have voted strongly against it but that will not kill the scheme at the moment there are no plans to roof the stucture but with seagulls swooping and messing on diners food this will become necessary in the future making the eyesore worse. I can think of no other harbour with a construction of this sort and feel it would set a dangerous precident for all beautiful harbours in Cornwall. It will also be a massive inconveniance for the fisherman as it means the moving of the fishing boats service/painting grid to a wholly unsuitable location. The fishermen who work from the harbour have no say in this it has been passed so far by the KREMLIN/ mevagissey harbour trustees who are only thinking of the monetary aspect whilst they should be looking at conserving the views of the harbour for future generations all the people of cornwall should fight this scheme .I T IS YOUR HERITAGE AND YOUR FUTURE.
